Becks And Stevie Help Ali Celebrate His 70th

Stevie Wonder led celebrations for boxing legend Muhammad Ali's 70th birthday at a charity party in Las Vegas.

Around 2,000 people, including singers, actors, athletes and former opponents gathered at the MGM Grand hotel for the bash.

Wonder sat alongside Ali on stage to sing Happy Birthday while friends and family danced and cheered.

David Beckham was among those who paid tribute to the star, saying: "Good evening, the man we celebrate tonight is a giant. Muhammad Ali has shown us one man can make a difference. His example of love, character, dignity, makes us want to be better. Muhammad Ali, you inspire me."

US President Barack Obama sent his birthday wishes to Ali via video message: "Happy birthday, champ. As a fighter, you were something spectacular.

"You shocked the world, and you inspired it, too. And even after all the titles and legendary bouts, you're still doing it."
Tennis champion Andre Agassi praised Ali for his work out of the ring: "Here's a man who has always been true to himself, a man who's always been speaking on behalf of those who don't have a voice.

"He's fought for hunger. He's fought for equalities. He's been tireless. He's used his platform to do things far greater than what benefits him and I think he's been an example not just to other athletes who strive to have his sort of impact but he's an inspiration to all of us."

There were also performances by Kelly Rowland, P Diddy, Snoop Dogg and Lenny Kravitz.

The gala's attendees celebrated Ali's life and an auction of sporting memorabilia helped generate millions of dollars for brain research, a cause close to him because of his almost 30-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Proceeds from the event went to the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and the Muhammad Ali Centre in Ali's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

Madonna's Stalker Escapes From Mental Unit

Police have launched a manhunt after a stalker who threatened Madonna in the 90s walked unnoticed from a mental health facility in California.
Robert Dewey Hoskins, 54, was jailed for 10 years in 1996 after being arrested for scaling a wall around the singer's Hollywood home and threatening to slit her throat.

Madonna testified at his trial, saying she had had nightmares about the homeless man from Oregon after spotting him near her house in 1995.

Her bodyguard told her Hoskins had claimed he was her husband and that "if he couldn't have me, he was going to slice my throat from ear to ear", the court heard.

He later jumped over the wall and leapt into the singer's pool before eventually being shot twice by a security guard.

Hoskins was sent to a mental hospital in California when he was released and was eventually set free.

But he was arrested again in July last year and admitted to a different health facility in the Los Angeles-area community of Norwalk.

He walked out of the hospital undetected last Friday and has not been seen since. Police say he is highly psychotic with violent tendencies when not taking medication.

Chanel Fashion Mogul Labels Adele 'Too Fat'

The head of fashion house Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, has branded pop icon Adele "a little too fat".
The German designer let his controversial opinions known during an interview in which he also declared Russian men "ugly" and the Royal Family "unnecessary".

Speaking to the Metro New York newspaper, which he was guest-editing for the day, he said: "The thing at the moment is Adele.

"She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice."

Fans of the 23-year-old star have taken to networking site Twitter offering support following the comments.

American PR guru Kelly Cutrone hit out at Lagerfeld, writing: "If you love Adele then boycott Chanel - Boo Karl".

A fan tweeted: "A little too fat for what? Too fat to become a global phenomenon, or too fat to be a talentless clothes horse? This bloke seems like an idiot."

He was slightly more complimentary about US singer Lana del Rey who he said was "not bad at all".

Asked about Russia, the man known as King Karl said: "If I was a woman in Russia I would be a lesbian, as the men are very ugly."

Lagerfeld - who once said of Diana, Princess of Wales, "she was pretty and she was sweet, but she was stupid" - also took aim at the Queen who he described as "a more smiley version" of her grandmother.

New Amazing Spider-Man Trailer Arrives

Empire was one of the hosts at last night's international Amazing Spider-Man event, where fresh footage was revealed alongside a brand-new trailer for Marc Webb's web spectacular. And now, here it is online, and it's looking good.

More wisecracks, more flashbacks, and some jaw-dropping action sequences make up its two-and-a-half minutes, and it should silence the critics who thought the previous Amazing Spider-Man trailer felt a little too much like a computer game.

As well as all that, there's much more detail to be gleaned of Rhys Ifans' Lizard, as well as Peter's police adversary (and in-law), George Stacy (Denis Leary).

There's also a lovely moment where you can see the mechanical web shooters being assembled, and an enlightening snippet of Peter coming up with the formula that creates The Lizard in the first place.

So, what are you waiting for? There's a trailer to
be watched!

Homeless man suing Eminem

Eminem is reportedly being sued for $9million (£5.7million) by a homeless man who says the rapper stole his idea for an advert.

Car company Chrysler debuted the ‘Born Of Fire’ commercial featuring Eminem and his track ‘Lose Yourself’ during last year’s Super Bowl but acording to website Allhiphop.com, a man called Stephen Lee Pieck, says the idea was all his:

“I want the court to reward me a judgment in the amount of $9 million. I designed every aspect of the commercial and the commercial was stolen from me. In addition, I did not receive compensation in monetary terms for the work I did.”

Oh dear!

Ads during the Super Bowl are traditionally expensive and successful – It can cost an average of $3.5million for a 30 second spot!

In the first couple of hours after the Eminem Chrysler ad first aired in the States, “Chrysler 200″ was the second most searched term on Google.

Altogether now….”Never mind, I’ll find someone like yoooooooooooo….”.
